This role, located near El Cajon, CA, begins with a maternity leave coverage starting October 5 and provides a dynamic full-time opportunity within an itinerant model. Responsibilities span direct and consultative services for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, with a preference for in-person engagement. Exceptional virtual professionals will also be considered.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Prior experience serving DHH students across diverse educational levels.
- Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt instructional approaches for individualized needs.
- Commitment to fostering inclusive environments for all learners.
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual service delivery (preferred in-person, but virtual considered).
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and consultation for students with hearing differences, spanning early childhood to young adult transition programs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs, ensuring goals meet students’ unique communication and learning needs.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote student achievement and advocacy.
- Utilize and recommend assistive technology and strategies to maximize accessibility and engagement.
- Maintain thorough documentation and ongoing communication with stakeholders.
