An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide specialized educational support within a dynamic school district in the San Francisco Bay Area. This full-time, on-site position focuses on itinerant services primarily in the Richmond area, serving students from early childhood through transition age in a consultative capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver district-wide itinerant educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ranging from early childhood through transition.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide consultative support to classroom teachers to facilitate effective communication access and inclusion.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary to meet individual needs.
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and state regulations regarding special education and DHH services.

Qualifications:

  • Valid DHH teaching credential and certification through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC).
  • Experience providing itinerant services in a consultative role within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, communication approaches, and assistive technologies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse student populations, educators, and families.
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive educational environments.

Location:

  • Position is on-site within schools primarily located in the Richmond area of San Francisco, CA.

This contract runs from August 11, 2026, through June 2, 2027, at 35 hours per week. The role provides a meaningful opportunity to make a significant impact on the educational outcomes of students with hearing impairments.
