Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) | Berkeley, California

The position focuses on providing consultative and direct services districtwide to early childhood through transition-aged students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching credential
- CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) certification required
- Prior experience supporting students with hearing differences in educational settings preferred
- Expertise in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong collaborative skills for consulting with educational teams and families
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
Responsibilities:
- Deliver services to a diverse caseload of students, ranging from early childhood to transition-aged learners, in an itinerant capacity
- Conduct student assessments and contribute to IEP development as a consultative team member
- Provide guidance and support to general education teachers, staff, and families to optimize student inclusion and growth
- Consult on classroom adaptations, communication strategies, and assistive technology
- Maintain records, document student progress, and prepare reports as needed
- Stay current with best practices and legal requirements in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
