What You’ll Need:
- Valid teaching certification or licensure for Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Alabama (proof of credentials required prior to placement)
- Endorsement specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with school-aged children with hearing impairments
- Strong ability to individualize instruction and adapt communication methods
- Solid collaborative and communication skills to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- Compassion, energy, and a commitment to making a difference
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Employ appropriate assistive technology and instructional strategies
- Communicate regularly with families and other education professionals
- Participate in team meetings and professional development as required
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records
