Step into a rewarding contract position supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a vibrant educational setting. This opportunity offers 20 hours per week, with an 18-student caseload spanning kindergarten to 12th grade. You'll collaborate with staff, students, and families, providing direct teaching and consulting to ensure each student’s needs are met. While in-person interaction is preferred for this role, there is flexibility for virtual (VOCO) options for the right candidate.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, with experience in K-12 educational settings
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized instructional strategies
  • Familiarity with assistive technology and communication modalities (e.g., sign language, speechreading)
  • Strong organizational skills to manage and track progress for a diverse caseload
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, educators, and families
  • Ability to tailor instruction for various age groups, learning styles, and technological abilities
  • Preference for candidates comfortable working in-person, but virtual candidates will also be considered

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and adapt curriculum for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple grade levels
  • Deliver high-quality instruction—individually and in small groups—to foster academic and personal growth
  • Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support student learning
  • Implement IEP goals and document student progress
  • Provide strategies and resources for staff and families
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, IEP reviews, and professional development
  • Support students using a range of auditory, visual, and supplementary tools
