Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Demonstrated experience or training in educational settings serving children with hearing challenges
- Strong understanding of auditory, oral, and sign language approaches
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Skilled at modifying curriculum and instruction to suit the diverse needs of learners
- Effective communicator who collaborates well with staff, students, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with educators and specialists to facilitate access to the general curriculum
- Adapt materials and teaching strategies to support student learning and engagement
- Monitor student progress and update IEPs and educational plans as necessary
