Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience providing instruction and support to students with hearing loss
- Proficiency with assistive listening devices, communication methods (including ASL and/or oral/auditory approaches), and differentiation of instructional materials
- Strong advocacy and communication skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to create inclusive, accessible, and engaging classroom environments
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans aligned with student needs
- Modify curriculum and teach academic subjects using specialized strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Facilitate the use and maintenance of assistive technology and hearing devices within the classroom
- Work closely with general education teachers to support integration and accommodation
- Provide direct instruction, language development, and auditory training as required
- Serve as a resource to staff and parents, providing training on communication strategies and inclusive practices
- Track student progress, document services, and contribute to eligibility and progress meetings
