DHH Teacher | Rossville, Indiana

Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience instructing students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of curriculum adaptations for auditory needs
- Familiarity with assistive technology such as FM systems, captioning, or ASL resources
- Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and general education staff
- Strong communication skills in spoken English and/or American Sign Language
- Ability to tailor teaching strategies for individual student needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing through individualized or small group settings
- Develop and adapt lesson plans targeting specific learning objectives and IEP requirements
- Assess students’ academic progress and provide progress reports
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support inclusion and accessibility
- Incorporate specialized technology and resources to enhance learning
- Provide consultation and training to staff and families on effective communication strategies
- Foster a supportive environment encouraging students’ language development and self-advocacy
