This part-time position seeks a qualified Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to provide specialized support for approximately 10–20 students across three schools in Monroe, VA. The role focuses on delivering direct instructional services aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), enhancing their communication, language, and auditory skills in both in-person and virtual settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to the needs of students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to facilitate students' academic and social development.
  • Employ a variety of teaching methods and assistive technologies to promote effective learning.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and related school activities.

Qualifications:

  • Virginia Teaching Certification in Visual Education.
  • Certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education.
  • Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to provide both in-person and virtual teaching services as needed.

Location: Monroe, VA (Services provided across three schools within the division).
