DHH Teacher | Camas, Washington

A full-time, itinerant Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) is needed for an assignment lasting the full school year. This contract position involves working across multiple sites within the district, providing specialized support and instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
As you travel between schools, you’ll collaborate with educational teams to ensure students have access to the support, resources, and advocacy they need to thrive. Qualifications:
- Hold current OSPI Certification with DHH endorsement
- Demonstrated experience supporting individuals with cochlear implants and hearing aids
- Skilled in working with students who use FM systems and American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school setting is required
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to travel weekly between schools within the district
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across multiple campuses
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, school staff, and families to develop strategies and accommodations
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual student needs
- Monitor progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
- Support student inclusion in general education settings
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment for students with varied communication preferences
