Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Carlsbad, CA

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Deaf / Hard of Hearing education (State of California credentials preferred)
- Experience instructing or supporting Deaf / Hard of Hearing students, preschool through high school
- Strong skills in American Sign Language (ASL) and various communication modes
- Ability to adapt teaching materials and strategies for individual learning styles
- Familiarity with IEP development and implementation
- Skill in collaborating with general educators, support staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to students who are Deaf / Hard of Hearing in various educational settings
- Develop and adapt curriculum and resources tailored to each student’s unique abilities
- Implement IEPs, track progress, and participate in meeting with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster a supportive, accessible classroom environment incorporating visual, auditory, and tactile learning
- Guide and collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to support inclusion and accessibility
- Engage families in their children’s language and academic development
