Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid teaching license or certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Proven experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, ideally in school settings
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other modes of communication appropriate for students
- Strong understanding of current best practices in deaf education and accommodations
- Compassionate and patient approach to supporting diverse student needs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with school staff and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s goals
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to maximize accessibility and inclusion
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to ensure students are fully supported
- Offer guidance and resources to staff and families regarding deaf/hard of hearing education and advocacy
- Maintain accurate records and monitor student progress, making data-driven adjustments as needed
