Desired Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)
- Experience working with early childhood/pre-kindergarten students preferred
- Strong knowledge of various communication modalities, including ASL, Signed English, and/or oral approaches
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized lesson plans
- Collaborative spirit for working alongside parents, speech-language pathologists, and other educators
- Enthusiasm for fostering a positive, accessible classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, developmentally-appropriate instruction to PreK students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Assess students’ individual hearing and communication needs, tailoring interventions accordingly
- Support inclusion by providing consultative guidance to general education staff
- Cultivate effective partnerships with families to promote student success
- Track progress and maintain accurate educational records as required
- Utilize assistive technologies and resources to maximize student participation
