Key Qualifications:
- Valid certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education or related field.
- Proven experience working with children or adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Skilled in differentiated instruction, language development, and accessible communication methods (such as ASL, cued speech, or similar).
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work alongside general education staff, families, and support personnel.
- Ability to create Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and monitor progress toward goals.
- Adaptability when working across various grade levels or school environments as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized lesson plans for students with hearing impairments.
- Foster an inclusive, accessible classroom where every student can thrive academically and socially.
- Consult and collaborate with teachers, instructional assistants, and parents to support learning and ensure accommodations are met.
- Assess students’ needs using both formal and informal methods.
- Support students in building communication, self-advocacy, and social skills.
