Empower students across K-12 settings as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the vibrant Nashville area, just north of the city near Cedar Hill, TN. This full-time contract role (Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours/week) provides you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference supporting students in multiple schools within a supportive environment. Key Qualifications:
- Current and active Tennessee Department of Education teaching certification required (DHH endorsement preferred)
- Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing (school-based experience highly valued)
- Ability to support a diverse caseload, K-12, with flexibility as needs arise
- Willingness to complete time-sensitive background and fingerprints clearance as scheduled by the district
- Dedication to collaborative work with other educators and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction for students who are deaf/hard of hearing, adapting strategies for individual learning needs across K-12 grades
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to foster access and inclusion
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Provide consultative support to educational teams and participate in required meetings
- Maintain accurate records, document progress, and ensure compliance with state and district regulations
