This is an on-site, full-time contract role, working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours weekly, commencing as soon as possible and continuing through May 20, 2026. Assignments may involve serving multiple campuses in the Nashville area’s northern suburbs, with school allocations varying by need.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction (active TN DOE Cert required)
- Previous school-based experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students at the K-12 level is preferred, though not required
- Experience delivering specialized instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes, accommodations, and related service documentation
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, student-centered approach
- Compliance with time-sensitive credentialing: fingerprinting and background check coordinated by the district
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support services to K-12 students with hearing impairments based on individual educational plans
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success
- Adjust instructional strategies and materials to address a variety of learning needs and communication modes
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and ongoing student progress monitoring
- Travel between assigned campuses may be required, based on caseload needs
