Bring your expertise in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) education to a dynamic school-based role serving K-12 students in the northern Nashville area. This full-time, onsite position offers an engaging contract opportunity for passionate educators ready to make a difference in students’ academic and personal lives.

In this versatile role, you’ll work collaboratively with a dedicated team, tailoring instructional strategies and supports based on caseload needs throughout the school year. You’ll have the opportunity to work across multiple campuses, supporting students at various stages of their educational journey.

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification for Deaf / Hard of Hearing instruction
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IEPs for DHH students
  • Knowledge of effective instructional methods, specialized technology, and accommodations for DHH students
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills, working well with faculty, staff, and families
  • Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required
  • Willingness to complete fingerprinting and background screening, expedited by district support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct instruction and support for K-12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Adapt curriculum and assessments based on IEP goals and individual student needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to foster inclusion
  • Communicate progress and strategies with parents and guardians
  • Maintain documentation and comply with all regulatory and district requirements
