Qualifications and Licensure:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education Certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing required
- Experience supporting K–12 students in educational settings
- Previous school-based experience is preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
- Fingerprinting and background clearance required prior to start—facilitated by the district
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for students who are deaf/hard of hearing
- Adapt curriculum and communication methods to meet students’ diverse needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Provide direct instruction and educational support services
- Advocate for accessibility, inclusion, and self-advocacy skills
- Maintain detailed records and ongoing progress reports
