As a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you'll utilize your expertise to foster communication, language development, and academic growth for students across multiple campuses as assigned. The ability to adapt services to meet each student’s unique requirements will be essential. This position provides a rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about accessible education and creating inclusive classrooms.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Department of Education Certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting (all experience levels, from entry to highly experienced, are welcome)
- Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and collaborating in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to provide both individualized and group instruction for K-12 students
- Willingness to complete fingerprinting and background check per district guidelines
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for students, grades K-12, with hearing loss
- Develop and implement IEPs tailored to students’ needs and abilities
- Collaborate with general educators, parents, and related service providers to promote student success
- Adapt curricula and instructional strategies for accessibility and inclusion
- Travel between assigned campuses in the Nashville suburb area as needed
