Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) education
- Experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across elementary and/or secondary levels
- Deep understanding of accessibility, communication modes, and assistive technology in DHH education
- Strong collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and families
- Creative, flexible approach to individualized instruction
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students using appropriate methods tailored to individual student needs
- Assess student progress and adapt strategies accordingly
- Consult with teachers and staff to support inclusive practices within the general education setting
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in partnership with parents and related service providers
- Foster a classroom atmosphere where students feel valued and empowered
