Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Daly City, California

Make a meaningful difference by supporting students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing during the 2026–2027 school year. This contract role focuses on serving students across district schools in a mainly consultative, itinerant capacity. With a presence required onsite, you’ll collaborate closely with educators and staff to provide vital instruction, advocacy, and resources from early childhood through student transition periods. You’ll enjoy the chance to address diverse needs and create an empowering learning environment for all.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Valid DHH teaching credential
- Certification through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC)
- Demonstrated ability to work in an itinerant, consultative capacity with students of varying ages and needs
- Ability to adapt communication strategies for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong organizational skills and initiative
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an educational setting
- Commitment to fostering inclusive and accessible education
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative support to students and staff districtwide from early childhood through transition
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in line with state regulations
- Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse auditory and communication requirements
- Serve as a resource to teachers, support staff, and families on best practices for inclusivity and accessibility
- Travel to multiple school sites within the district as needed
