Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in Daly City, CA
Empower students as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, bringing expertise and passion to a diverse district for the 2026–2027 school year. This on-site, consultative position supports students from early childhood through transition age, focusing on meaningful educational progress and inclusion.
What we’re seeking:
- Valid DHH teaching credential
- CTC (California Commission on Teacher Credentialing) certification
- Experience supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in school settings
- Strong consultative, collaboration, and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized strategies based on student needs
- Willingness to travel between school sites within the district as needed
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing needs across a variety of schools
- Collaborate with general education staff, administrators, and families to address academic, communication, and access barriers
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Offer professional guidance and resources to staff on best practices for inclusion and student engagement
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Facilitate communication and advocacy so each student receives appropriate support and opportunities
