Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH)
- Previous experience in educational settings with children who are Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of assistive technologies and alternative communication strategies (e.g., ASL, Cued Speech, auditory/oral approaches)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to advocating for student inclusion and individualized support
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services to students with hearing impairments in an onsite school environment
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support access to curriculum
- Implement IEPs, track student progress, and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings
- Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet individual needs
- Facilitate use of assistive listening devices and other technologies as needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
