Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Owego, NY

Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid certification/licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (required)
- Previous experience teaching or providing services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff, students, and families
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, accessible, and supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an onsite setting
- Assess student abilities and develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Monitor progress and maintain documentation in compliance with school and district guidelines
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support student success
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school community
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
- Stay current with best practices and advances in Deaf education
