As the DHH teacher, you’ll serve about 7 to 8 students with DHH services outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Three students currently require 60 minutes of direct support each week, with anticipated adjustments, while the remainder have needs on a monthly service schedule. You'll collaborate with school teams and families to ensure each student receives the support and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Qualifications:
- Active California Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teaching License
- Previous experience as a DHH teacher in a school-based or similar therapeutic setting
- Skilled in developing and implementing IEPs for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with educators and families
- Passion for empowering students with hearing loss to achieve their goals
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct DHH instruction and support aligned with IEPs
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as necessary
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and assistive technologies
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines
