In this role, you’ll support a caseload of 7-8 students with Deaf/Hard of Hearing needs as outlined in their IEPs. Currently, three students require weekly 60-minute sessions, with the remainder on a monthly service plan. Your flexibility and specialized skills will be instrumental in delivering individualized instruction and advocacy, fostering student growth in both academic and communication skills.
What we’re looking for:
- Current and active California Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching License (DHH)
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs for DHH students preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration skills—working closely with families and school teams
- Ability to adapt instructional materials and strategies to meet a variety of student needs
- Dedication to empowering students to achieve academic and personal goals
Responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct instruction and support services as indicated in students’ IEPs
- Monitoring progress and updating educational plans as needed
- Collaborating with general educators, SLPs, and support staff
- Documenting student meetings, progress, and reports accurately and timely
- Partnering with families to ensure cohesive educational approaches
