DHH Teacher | Valley Center, California
Make a difference for students in need of specialized instruction as a part-time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for the full 26/27 school year. In this rewarding contract opportunity, you’ll work with a dedicated caseload of 7-8 students who have DHH services on their IEP, enabling them to reach their full potential through tailored educational support.
With a flexible schedule, you’ll be able to balance professional commitments with your personal life. The current caseload includes three students receiving weekly instruction (60 minutes each), with additional students receiving services monthly. As needs evolve, student assignments may be adjusted to ensure the most effective, individualized support.
Qualifications:
- Active and valid California DHH Teaching License (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Knowledge of IEP processes and experience implementing student IEP goals
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both students and multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered educational practices
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support to students on your caseload per their IEP specifications
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech/language pathologists, and support staff
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, updating IEPs as needed
- Advocate for accommodations and access to curriculum in all school settings
- Communicate progress and collaborate with families to foster student success
