Deaf/Hard of Hearing Educator - Part Time - Gainesville, GA - 26/27 School Year

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teacher of the Hearing Impaired (DHH) to join our team in Bellevue, Nebraska. The DHH will provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring they have equal access to education and the tools needed to succeed. Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments in various educational settings.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and accommodations based on student needs.
• Teach Sign Language, assistive technology, orientation and mobility concepts, and adaptive strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, parents, and school staff to support student learning and accessibility.
• Assess students’ functional hearing and learning needs and recommend appropriate instructional methods.
• Train school staff and families on best practices for supporting hearing impaired students.
• Advocate for students by ensuring they have access to appropriate materials, technology, and classroom modifications.
• Maintain accurate records and progress reports in compliance with state and district guidelines.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field with a focus on Hearing Impairments.
• DHH state teaching credential for Special Education - Deaf Education (P-12) or
○ Special Education General Curriculum (P-12) with a Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement
• Experience working with students who have hearing impairments (preferred).
• Knowledge of American Sign Language, assistive technology, and accessibility tools.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Additional Requirements
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.
• Familiarity with special education laws, accommodations, and instructional strategies.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
