Key Qualifications:
- State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Demonstrated knowledge of language acquisition and communication strategies for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, with proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or another communication modality preferred
- Commitment to cultural diversity and accessibility within the classroom
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and differentiated instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, following best practices and IEP guidelines
- Assess student progress and adjust interventions as needed, providing individualized support for language, literacy, and social-emotional development
- Collaborate regularly with educational teams to implement accommodations and modifications
- Advocate for student needs and inclusion within the general education setting
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, sharing expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education and related technologies
