Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification or licensure in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education required
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 settings is preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or signed communication methods is strongly desired
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and specialists
- Strong communication and advocacy skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to deaf or hard of hearing students, adapting curriculum as needed
- Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting teaching strategies for optimal outcomes
- Work closely with general and special education staff to develop and implement IEPs
- Foster an environment that encourages language development, inclusion, and student self-advocacy
- Serve as a resource for colleagues and families regarding deaf education and accommodations
