Key Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching credential as Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (state requirements apply)
- Experience working with students of varying ages and ability levels
- Familiarity with individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress documentation
- Skilled in working with students who have cochlear implants preferred
- Reliable transportation for commuting between schools and sites within the county
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to on-site work (virtual services are not considered for this position)
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across different schools and settings
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to address individual needs and diverse learning styles
- Provide consultation and resources to educational staff and family members
- Assess student progress and participate in IEP meetings
- Serve as an advocate, promoting accessibility and inclusion in all educational settings
