Make a difference in the lives of students by shaping accessible and enriching educational experiences as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This specialized school-based opportunity is a contract position serving PreK–12 students in a supportive, inclusive, on-site environment near High Point, NC.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold an active North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing or be eligible to obtain licensure through reciprocity
- Prior school-based experience preferred, ideally supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing across varied grade levels
- Proficient with collaboration—able to work closely with general and special education teams, administrators, families, and related service providers
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to support diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency with ECATS and Infinite Campus preferred
- Availability for on-site services only
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, implementing IEPs and individualized supports
- Collaborate on IEP development, attend meetings, and participate in multidisciplinary team discussions
- Maintain thorough documentation and ensure district, state, and federal compliance
- Conduct student assessments and monitor progress to foster academic and social success
- Serve as a resource to the school team, promoting awareness and strategies for effective instruction and communication
- Support students’ growth in literacy, communication, and socialization within the school setting
Position Details:
- On-site role, contract basis, part-time (29 hours/week)
- Assignment dates: August 17, 2026 – June 4, 2027
- Caseload of PreK–12 students
