Step into a meaningful role supporting students PreK–12 as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This onsite contract opportunity offers the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, working with fellow professionals to support academic, communication, and social growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or eligibility for NC licensure through reciprocity
  • Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated background in teaching and supporting PreK–12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong ability to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams and families
  • Must be available to provide services fully onsite

Role Highlights:

  • Provide direct instruction to students based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Work collaboratively with general and special education staff, related service providers, administrators, and family members to ensure student needs are met
  • Conduct student assessments, contribute to the development and ongoing monitoring of IEPs
  • Maintain accurate records for compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
  • Attend IEP meetings and work with teams to promote quality outcomes
  • Use ECATS and Infinite Campus for documentation and data tracking

This part-time role (29 hours per week) runs from August 17, 2026 to June 4, 2027, offering the satisfaction of supporting student growth in an educational setting.
