Exciting opportunity for an experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic school-based setting near Lexington, NC! This contract role involves supporting PreK–12 students and collaborating with a dedicated educational team for the 2026-2027 school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Holds (or is eligible to obtain) a current North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing
- Prior experience working directly with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing, ideally in a public school environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well with PreK–12 students and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to deliver services on-site; remote work is not available
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instructional support to deaf and hard of hearing students per their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service professionals, administrators, and families to ensure students' success
- Conduct student assessments and actively participate in IEP development, progress monitoring, and team meetings
- Maintain thorough documentation and uphold all district, state, and federal compliance requirements
- Support the academic, communication, and social development of students in inclusive and specialized settings
Assignment Details:
- Contract duration: August 17, 2026 to June 4, 2027
- Schedule: Part-time, 29 hours per week
- Caseload: PreK–12 students on-site only
- Utilize systems such as ECATS and Infinite Campus for case management and reporting
