Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification or teaching credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Proficiency in sign language (ASL or another system) and other communication strategies for students with hearing loss
- Experience designing and adapting curriculum to meet individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and advocacy skills to connect with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
- Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and promoting equity in education
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, aligned with state standards and IEPs
- Assess student abilities, monitor progress, and adjust instruction as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student integration
- Provide guidance and training to school staff on communication techniques and accommodations
- Partner with families to build consistent strategies between home and school
