This itinerant, contract position is designed for dedicated professionals who are passionate about accessible education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners. Your day will run from 8am to 4pm, with a manageable, full-time caseload that allows you to build meaningful relationships while collaborating with a broader educational team.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing issued in the state
- Experience working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students is strongly preferred
- Strong communication abilities and capacity to adapt in varying classroom environments
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Commitment to providing individualized educational support and participation in multidisciplinary meetings
Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across several schools
- Consult regularly with classroom teachers, parents, and service providers to tailor educational programs
- Help develop and evaluate Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and resources, including technology, to meet diverse student needs
- Travel within the district to assigned school sites as part of the regular schedule
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services rendered
