Qualifications and experience desired:
- Hold a current NC DHH License required for this role
- Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing in a school setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of current teaching best practices for students with hearing loss
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Dedication to supporting students’ language, academic, and social-emotional growth
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to DHH students as outlined in their IEPs
- Assess student progress and adapt instructional plans accordingly
- Conduct formal and informal evaluations of students’ skills and needs
- Serve as a resource to general education staff on effective adaptation and technology
- Communicate regularly with families to support learning and inclusion
