Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license is required
- Strong background in strategies, resources, and instructional methods for DHH students
- Previous experience working in a school setting a plus
- Excellent communication skills for both student interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to adapt lesson plans to meet individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students as assigned
- Collaborate with general education teachers, administrators, and support staff
- Assess and address individual student needs by developing and modifying individualized education plans
- Maintain up-to-date records, monitor progress, and provide feedback to parents and staff
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive classroom environment where all students can participate
