Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Hold a current North Carolina DHH (Deaf/Hard of Hearing) teaching license
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Strong communication, advocacy, and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to empowering students through accessible instruction and resources
- Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional services and accommodations for school-aged students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to support diverse communication needs
- Conduct student assessments and contribute to IEP development and meetings
- Collaborate with general education staff, families, and district specialists
