What We’re Looking For:
- Valid NC Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teaching License
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a K-12 school environment
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related documentation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively partner with multidisciplinary teams
- Commitment to fostering a positive, accessible, and engaging classroom experience
- Openness to working 16 hours per week during the contract period
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Providing direct instructional support and accommodations to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborating with classroom teachers and other specialists to ensure student needs are met
- Participating in IEP meetings and developing appropriate educational plans
- Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and assistive technologies to support student learning
- Maintaining accurate records and progress reports
- Staying current with best practices in deaf education and accessible instruction
