What We’re Seeking:
- Valid, active Washington teaching license is required
- Previous experience as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong knowledge of best practices in deaf education, language development, and individualized student support
- Ability to create accessible learning environments using appropriate tools and technology
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans for students with hearing impairments
- Deliver direct instruction tailored to DHH students’ communication styles and academic needs
- Consult with general education staff to provide support and accommodations
- Utilize assistive technology and visual supports to facilitate access
- Foster a safe, supportive, and positive classroom climate
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings
