Qualifications:
- Valid and active Washington teaching license with appropriate endorsements for Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education
- Experience or background working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of assistive technology, IEP writing, and differentiated instruction tailored to students’ individualized needs
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to create inclusive learning environments and advocate for accessibility
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting lessons to individual learning profiles
- Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with fellow educators, interpreters, support staff, and families to create cohesive support teams
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute expertise in hearing-related curricula and accommodations
- Utilize technology and visual supports to maximize student engagement and educational outcomes
