DHH Teacher | Tacoma, Washington

Qualifications:
- Must hold a current, active Washington teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills, both in spoken and signed modalities, are essential.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, families, and outside service providers.
- Passion for creating accessible and engaging educational experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various school settings.
- Develop, implement, and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies and adaptive technology to ensure access to curriculum.
- Foster communication development, advocacy skills, and confidence in students.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure accommodations and inclusion.
- Communicate regularly with families to provide updates on progress and strategies for home use.
