You’ll work approximately 30 hours each week, collaborating closely with school staff, families, and the students themselves. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in helping these students reach their academic and social potential in an inclusive environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification or credential in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with individualized education programs (IEPs) and adapting curriculum for diverse learning needs
- Previous experience in a school-based setting with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred
- Compassion, patience, and a commitment to fostering student success
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering engaging ASL instruction tailored to each student’s level and needs
- Working collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to modify lessons appropriately
