Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related credentials
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) required
- Experience instructing and supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in a school setting
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to tailor lesson plans to individual student needs
- Comfortable working with students of varying grade levels, including elementary and high school
- Familiarity with IEPs and progress documentation preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support in ASL to two students: one entering high school, one entering 5th grade
- Collaborate with educational staff to adapt and modify the curriculum as needed to ensure accessibility
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to faculty and families
