Empower students and make a difference as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in an engaging on-site, part-time contract role for the 2026–2027 school year. This position serves PreK–12 students, providing specialized instructional support and ensuring their academic and social success. The assignment runs from August 17, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a commitment of 29 hours per week.

Key Qualifications:

  • Holds an active North Carolina Professional Educator License in Deaf and Hard of Hearing, or is eligible for NC licensure through reciprocity.
  • Brings experience working with school-aged children (PreK–12) who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Demonstrates strong collaboration and communication skills to partner with educators, related service staff, administrators, and families.
  • Has a background in school-based settings (preferred).
  • Available for on-site work only; remote work is not available for this role.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction based on students’ IEPs, tailored to support access, engagement, and skill-building for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, special education professionals, related service providers, administrators, and family members.
  • Carry out assessments, contribute to IEP development, and conduct ongoing progress monitoring for students.
  • Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with district, state, and federal policies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions to advocate for student needs.
  • Support students’ social development and communication within the school environment.
  • Utilize platforms such as ECATS and Infinite Campus for documentation and reporting.
