Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of assistive technologies, instructional accommodations, and IEP processes
- Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Commitment to student-centered, culturally responsive teaching practices
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across assigned schools
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs
- Consult with classroom teachers and staff to adapt curriculum and classroom environments for accessibility
- Facilitate communication strategies and assistive technology integration
- Advocate for students’ inclusion, self-advocacy, and equal access to educational opportunities
- Serve as a knowledge resource for the district on best practices in Deaf Education
