Grades 6 - 8 K-5 DHH Teacher | Middletown, New York
An exciting opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students across multiple grade levels (K-12) in a dynamic school setting. This contract position begins immediately and extends at least through the remainder of the school year, with potential for continuation. The role offers a structured Monday through Friday schedule, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, totaling 37.5 hours weekly.
Responsibilities include providing specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of deaf and hard of hearing students. The caseload generally consists of 20 to 30 sessions weekly, delivered across various locations—ranging between 2 to 8 sites. This position requires flexibility to effectively serve students in different learning environments and collaborate with educators and families to promote student success.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid New York State Teaching Certificate for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students is mandatory.
- Experience working with students in grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 is highly desirable.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working alongside school staff and families.
