Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Current or eligible state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working in elementary education settings (K-5 preferred)
- Strong skills in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or another communication mode used in Deaf education
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative spirit for working with teachers, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication and advocacy abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and classroom support to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Modify lessons and materials to ensure accessibility and engagement
- Support language development and academic success through targeted strategies and interventions
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and ongoing progress monitoring
- Offer guidance and resources to classroom teachers and families to promote full classroom participation
