Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) – Full-Time or Part-Time

Employment Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
School Year: August 12, 2026 – May 20, 2027
Schedule: 21–35 hours per week (minimum of 7-hour days, at least 3 days per week)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) to provide specialized educational services to students from Pre-K through 6th grade. The DHHT will support students with hearing impairments through direct services, evaluations, consultation, and collaboration with educational teams to ensure student success in the classroom.

Essential Responsibilities
Conduct evaluations and assessments for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Attend and actively participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings.
Read and interpret audiological reports and audiograms.
Develop and implement individualized educational strategies and accommodations.
Manage and maintain a caseload of students across multiple grade levels (PK–6).
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, related service providers, and families.
Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
Provide consultation and support regarding hearing loss, assistive technology, and classroom accommodations.

Qualifications
Active Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teaching Certification/License through the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
Knowledge of hearing impairments, audiological evaluations, and educational programming for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience working with Pre-K through elementary-aged students.
Familiarity with ARD processes and special education compliance requirements.
Ability to interpret audiograms and recommend appropriate educational accommodations.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary educational teams.
