This contract opportunity offers a dynamic, itinerant position throughout multiple school locations, working directly with students and collaborating closely with staff and families to ensure each learner’s needs are met. Set in the Richmond area, this role is designed for dedicated educators enthusiastic about providing expert guidance, consultation, and support districtwide.
Key Qualifications:
- Current teaching credential for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) and California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) authorization
- Experience as a DHH Teacher, preferably in an itinerant or consultative capacity
- Familiarity with Early Childhood through Transition age students
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, supporting both students and school teams
- Organizational ability to independently manage a diverse caseload across multiple campuses
- Commitment to on-site service; this role does not allow for remote delivery
Primary Responsibilities:
- Travel to multiple school sites within the district as an itinerant DHH teacher
- Provide consultative services for students from Early Childhood through transition-aged programs
- Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to develop and implement individualized strategies and supports
- Monitor student progress and document outcomes in accordance with IEP goals
- Offer in-service trainings and guidance to educational teams regarding best practices in DHH instruction
- Maintain accurate records and compliance with district and state requirements
