Make a positive impact on a student’s educational journey by supporting a 3rd grader as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This contract opportunity focuses on providing personalized, in-person instructional support one day each week for 20 minutes (with flexible scheduling within school hours of 8am-3pm). The position will span the 2026-2027 academic school year, beginning as soon as possible, and is based near Oconomowoc, WI.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Demonstrated experience working with school-aged children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Ability to engage, encourage, and guide students in developing self-advocacy and communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with school staff and families.
- Commitment to providing instruction in an in-person setting, as remote services will not be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted support and instruction tailored to the needs of a 3rd grade student with hearing differences in a welcoming, inclusive setting.
- Consult with school staff and collaborate with general education teachers to optimize educational strategies and support integration.
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring and adapt instructional approaches as needed.
- Offer recommendations for classroom accommodations and technology to support the student's success.
- Foster a supportive learning environment that empowers the student both academically and socially.
