Qualifications and Experience
- Valid and active Department of Education certification specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Completion of required fingerprinting for credentialing
- Previous experience working with K–12 students is highly valued
- Expertise in differentiated instruction, accessible communication, and individualized program planning
- Ability to collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers
- Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across assigned schools
- Develop, implement, and monitor progress on students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Utilize appropriate assistive technology and communication modalities according to student needs
- Partner with general education teachers and service teams to foster inclusive learning environments
- Provide training and support for staff and families on hearing loss, technology, and instructional strategies
- Maintain thorough records and communication in compliance with district and state guidelines
