Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Chattanooga, TN

Key Qualifications:
- Current and active DOE certification required
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Proven familiarity with instructional strategies and accommodations specific to DHH learners
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Fingerprinting completion prior to start date (time-sensitive credentialing requirement)
- Dedicated to upholding best practices in accessibility and inclusion
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction tailored to DHH students
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to create and implement IEPs
- Provide consultative support to general education teachers and staff
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed documentation, and communicate growth to families
- Adapt teaching materials and classroom environments as needed for student success
- Stay current with professional best practices in DHH education
