Qualifications:
- Current and active DOE certification for teaching Deaf / Hard of Hearing students
- Fingerprinting and background clearance (time-sensitive credentialing)
- Prior experience in school settings or with children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is highly preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Adaptability in managing varying caseloads as final assignments are determined
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to DHH students based on individual education plans (IEPs)
- Foster a positive, accessible classroom environment that encourages participation and growth
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to monitor student progress and adapt strategies as needed
- Utilize evidence-based practices and current technology to enhance learning
- Serve as an advocate for Deaf / Hard of Hearing students, promoting inclusivity and accessibility across school settings
- Caseloads and age groups will be finalized prior to assignment, offering a dynamic and engaging work experience
