Desired Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for appropriate endorsement
- Previous experience teaching children who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing preferred
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related documentation
- Comfortable collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication and instructional skills, including adaptation for diverse learning needs
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within the school setting
- Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with team members to address each child’s unique needs
- Foster communication skill development through language-rich, accessible lesson planning
- Track student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed
- Collaborate with general education staff to support student integration and growth
- Maintain comprehensive records and participate in IEP meetings and related conferences
